Liturgical Reading For The Offering — Free From Sin

by Bobby Gilles

in Liturgy & Sermons

Here is a script I’ve written for the offering portion of our worship service liturgy, specifically to emphasize that Christ has purchased our freedom. Feel free to use it in your own worship services. And you can get more liturgical readings in our Liturgy & Sermons category here at My Song In The Night.

We were once slaves to sin, with a death sentence hanging over us. But now, thanks be to God, we are free and we have the gift of eternal life. In gratitude, we offer a portion of our income to God.

Let’s pray this together:

Lord, thank you for purchasing our freedom
through the work of your son.
Accept these offerings as a physical sign that says
“All the glory and honor belongs to You.”

If you’re a visitor this morning, don’t feel obligated to give. This service is our gift to you, from coffee to childcare, because the people around you are some of the most generous people you’ll ever meet.

And now, the giving baskets will go around as we continue to sing.

Get chord sheet, piano lead sheet and audio for the modern offering hymn “All I Have Is Yours.”
