Liturgical Reading For The Offering In Times Of Anxiety

by Bobby Gilles

in Liturgy & Sermons

Here is a script I’ve written for the offering portion of our worship service liturgy, specifically to go along with a sermon on fear and anxiety. Feel free to use it in your own worship services. And you can get more liturgical readings in our Liturgy & Sermons category here at My Song In The Night.

Giving to God’s church can be scary. What if some unexpected bills come due? What if we need the money, and it’s no longer there?

God has promised to be our ever-present help in time of trouble.

Read the underlined portions aloud with me:

Lord, keep our anxiety about the future from robbing us of blessings.

We will give in faith,
Trusting that you will calm our fears
And meet our needs

Amen.

If you’re not a Christian, we’re not asking for your money. This service is our gift to you. For those who can say, “The Lord Almighty is with us,” the giving baskets will go around as we continue to sing.

Get chord sheet, piano lead sheet and audio for the modern offering hymn “All I Have Is Yours.”
