Welcome to Sojourn’s weekly worship music set list review & service recap. You’ll not only read a list of the songs we led, but also the readings and prayers from our liturgy. You can also watch the video stream of the whole service from our Facebook page or here below (you can also see a video of our sermon alone, from Vimeo).
Our liturgy is directed by Worship Director Justin Shaffer, in collaboration with our Creative Staff at Sojourn Church New Albany, our Liturgy writers, and worship staff at the other four Sojourn Collective churches in the Louisville area.
This Sunday Pastor Jonah Sage preached from Matthew 22:23-40 in our series Family Values. To learn more about Sojourn Church, click here.

CALL TO WORSHIP: Liturgist
Good morning! Welcome to sojourn! If you’re a visitor, either here in person or streaming our service online, welcome! We’re so glad you’re here! Let’s stand and proclaim God’s word together. Hear the word of the Lord!
5 Lord, you alone are my inheritance, my cup of blessing.
You guard all that is mine.
6 The land you have given me is a pleasant land.
What a wonderful inheritance!
7 I will bless the Lord who guides me;
even at night my heart instructs me.
8 I know the Lord is always with me.
I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.
9 No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice.
My body rests in safety.
10 For you will not leave my soul among the dead
or allow your holy one to rot in the grave.
11 You will show me the way of life,
granting me the joy of your presence
and the pleasures of living with you forever.
-Psalm 16:5-11 NLT
…brief transition…
—Song 1: “Revelation Song” Key, Hannah

…dull, blunted imaginations, lack awareness of who God is and what he is doing…
…leads to sinful striving instead of heavenward striving…
…prayer for revival, awakening, renewal…
—Song 2: “Satisfied in You” Key, Justin
ASSURANCE & GIVING: Liturgist
Themes: Participation in the rule of God; the Kingdom. Salvation is not limited to Assurance of Pardon or PSA although for that we greatly rejoice, but also extends to life with God forever, ruling and reigning with him.
Union with Christ: Invitations to a reformed heart… with Jesus
3 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.]” -John 3:3 NLT

May the hope of the resurrection fill your hearts and minds with wonder! May the power of God renew you and give you strength! And may the love of God, greater than tongue or pen could ever tell, ignite your soul with passion for Christ, his church, and to share his love with a lost and hurting world. Go in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Peace be with you!
