in Liturgy & Sermons

Welcome to Sojourn’s weekly worship music set list review & service recap. You’ll not only read a list of the songs we led, but also the readings and prayers from our liturgy. You can also watch the video stream of the whole service from our Facebook page, or here below (you’ll also see a higher resolution video of the sermon alone).

Our liturgy is written by Worship Director Justin Shaffer, in collaboration with our Creative Team at Sojourn Church New Albany and worship staff at the other four Sojourn Collective churches in the Louisville area.

This Sunday, following the scripture reading by Deacon Sarah Ash, Pastor Bobby Gilles preached from Ephesians in the first service of our series Bliss Or Miss: Marriage In God’s Kingdom. To learn more about Sojourn Church, click here.

My Glorious

Good morning! Welcome to sojourn! …reverence…

28-29 Do you see what we’ve got? An unshakable kingdom! And do you see how thankful we must be? Not only thankful, but brimming with worship, deeply reverent before God. For God is not an indifferent bystander. He’s actively cleaning house, torching all that needs to burn, and he won’t quit until it’s all cleansed. God himself is Fire!                  -Hebrews 12:28-29 The Message

Praise to the Lord the Almighty

1 Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord;

2     Lord, hear my voice.

Let your ears be attentive

to my cry for mercy.

3 If you, Lord, kept a record of sins,

Lord, who could stand?

4 But with you there is forgiveness,

so that we can, with reverence, serve you.                                                   -Psalm 130:1-4 NIV

From the Depths

…marriage supper of the Lamb

6 Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting:

For our Lord God Almighty reigns.

7 Let us rejoice and be glad

and give him glory!

For the wedding of the Lamb has come,

and his bride has made herself ready.

8 Fine linen, bright and clean,

was given her to wear.”

(Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of God’s holy people.)

9 Then the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!” And he added, “These are the true words of God.”  -Revelation 16:6-9 NIV

Good Good Father

15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.                                                                                   -Colossians 3:15 NIV

The Love of God

Fellowship So Deep

12 May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you. 13 May he strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones. [Peace be with you!]                                                                                       -1 Thess. 3:12-13 NIV
