Welcome to Sojourn! We begin every gathering, as Christians have been doing for millennia, with a Call to Worship… God is the object, the audience, and the initiator of our worship – God alone is worthy of our praise… He alone is Holy! Hear the word of the Lord:
Praise the Lord!
Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty heaven!
Praise him for his mighty works;
praise his unequaled greatness!
Praise him with the tambourine and dancing;
praise him with strings and flutes!

God’s word exhorts us to worship Him with EVERYTHING we have; we have voices – so we sing! We have drums and pianos and guitars – so we make a joyful noise! We sing to him and to each other in spirit and in truth! Within our church we literally have opera singers and stage performers and people who are tone deaf 🙂 and the Bible teaches that God delights in us and the beautiful harmony we make – so let’s sing!
