Last week Kristen and I received an advanced copy of a new six-song worship EP by Coral Ridge Music, led by Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church Worship Pastor Zac Hicks. Since then we’ve listened to it countless times, enjoying every minute. The album, His Be The Victor’s Name, releases tomorrow. You can get it here, and you can download the free songbook (chord charts and lead sheets) here. But … three of you can win this new CD through our Twitter contest.
To register, just tweet this to Kristen (who recently joined Twitter, so this is her first contest):
Hey @Kristen_Gilles register me for a chance to win #HisBeTheVictorsName by @CoralRidgeMusic @zachicks
Then make sure you’re following Kristen on Twitter — she will Direct Message the three winners tomorrow (Tuesday the 25th). She’ll ask you for your email address and the physical address where you’d like to receive the CD.
You should want to win this — it’s really good. And if you don’t win, you should buy it! Zac Hicks is one of the leading thinkers in the Rehymn Movement — setting new music to old hymns. His “Rehymn Movement” web page is a great introduction to the movement. And His Be The Victor’s Crown has some strong new/old hymns on it, featuring compelling pop/rock music to the lyrics of Martin Luther, William Cowper and other hymn masters.
It also includes “Most Merciful God,” a confession song based on The Book Of Common Prayer, the music of which Zac cowrote with Julie Anne Osterhus, who shares lead vocals with Zac on the EP. And it includes one original song written by Zac, “Wake Up Sleeper,” based on Ephesians 5:4. It contains some of my favorite lines on the record, like:
“The glory of the cross inspires my highest praise
His rising from the tomb ignites a holy blaze”
Again, the album releases tomorrow but you can register for a chance to win one of three copies on Twitter, by tweeting this to my wife, who is new to Twitter:
Hey @Kristen_Gilles register me for a chance to win #HisBeTheVictorsName by @CoralRidgeMusic @zachicks
We’ll announce the winners by noon tomorrow (Tuesday, February 25).
