It’s true. Of course depending on the kind of job you do, whether you’re freelance, hourly or salaried, and who your boss is may alter things a bit. I wouldn’t advise telling Don Draper of Mad Men “Sorry, I can’t come to your office now — it’s my creative time.”
Then again, Draper would probably respect that. As long as your creativity impressed him.
But the principle is still a good one: you need to block time for writing, designing, composing or whatever it is that you do.
