Welcome to Sojourn’s weekly worship music set list review & service recap. You’ll not only read a list of the songs we led, but also the readings and prayers from our liturgy.

Our liturgy is written by worship director Justin Shaffer in collaboration with worship directors at other Sojourn churches.

This Sunday Pastor Jonah Sage preached Galatians 3:15-22 as part of our Galatians sermon series.  To learn more about Sojourn Church, click here.

CALL TO WORSHIP

Good morning and welcome to sojourn! I’m _____ one of the ____ … We gather every Sunday to spend time with Jesus, the true vine, together in community to reenact the Gospel through the movements of liturgy …additionally, today is Child Dedication Sunday – a celebration of new life and God’s gifts.

We can celebrate this new life, and the wonderful gift of our children together without sidestepping the reality that the world in which we live is full of both joys and sorrows; We can celebrate the new life God has given to some in our church, even as we weep with those who might be suffering.

Whatever you bring into this gathering, you can know that God is present, he’s with you, and he’s for you in Jesus. Hear the Word of the Lord

God, for whom and through whom everything was made, chose to bring many

children into glory. And it was only right that he should make Jesus,

through his suffering, a perfect leader, fit to bring them into their salvation.

So now Jesus and the ones he makes holy have the same Father.

That is why Jesus is not ashamed to call us his brothers and sisters.

– Hebrews 2:10-11

ASSURANCE/GIVING

In light of the reality that all we have belongs to God, we give with thankful hearts, we give in response to the gift of salvation we have received, we give because God delights in giving to us. Let’s pray together over our offering:

All good things come from you, O God,

and with gratitude we return to you what is yours.

You gave your only Son, Jesus Christ, to be our Savior.

In thanks, we offer you ourselves and all that we have,

for the sake of your kingdom. Amen.

-Adapted from the Worship Sourcebook

As the giving buckets go around, let’s give and sing with thankful hearts.

PASSING OF THE PEACE

God also calls us into a life marked by peace and makes this once impossible task our M.O. through the transforming power of God in Christ. Let’s enjoy getting to know each other a bit better for a few moments now 🙂
