Liturgical Reading For The Offering — Take God At His Word

by Bobby Gilles

in Liturgy & Sermons

Here is a script I’ve written for the offering portion of our worship service liturgy, specifically to go with a sermon that centers on believing the Word of God. Feel free to use it in your own worship services. And you can get more liturgical readings in our Liturgy & Sermons category here at My Song In The Night.

Giving to God’s church is a sign that we believe His Word on a deep, personal level. We trust that He will take our meager offerings and use them to spread His Kingdom of love and peace.

Read the underlined portions aloud with me:

God, accept this gift from a heart that takes you at your word.
I believe You have freely given eternal life to me,
And I freely offer this token of my gratitude.

If you’re not a Christian, we’re not asking for your money. This service is our gift to you. For those who are Christians, the giving baskets will go around as we continue to sing.

Get chord sheet, piano lead sheet and audio for the modern offering hymn “All I Have Is Yours.”
