A week ago, I led worship at the Sending Church Roundtable with the Sojourn Music band. This one-day missions conference was a collaboration between Sojourn International, our church’s mission ministry, and a collective of missions’ minded churches called The Upstream Collective.

Below is the full liturgy (worship song set list plus prayers and scripture readings) from this event. I pray it will help you in planning worship sets for missions’ themed church services. The words you see underlined in this liturgy indicate that I encouraged the worshipers to read those words aloud with me.

You can get free chord sheets to my original songs here. You can also subscribe to a playlist containing all the songs from this missions service in my Spotify page or my YouTube channel.

Opening Song: King of Glory written by Chris Tomlin and Jesse Reeves.

Call To Worship: God has revealed Himself to us as the only Lord, the King of Glory, and He’s called us to “tell everyone how great the love that came down from heaven’s gate.”  Jesus came and canceled our sin debt and conquered death through His life, death and resurrection.  And His finished work and Holy Spirit empower us to live free of fear and full of faith in His promises!

Song: No More Fear written by Kristen Gilles and Bobby Gilles. We recorded this on Parker’s Mercy Brigade. Story behind the song here.

Prayer Of Confession: Lord we confess that, although we have nothing to fear because You are Lord of all, we often operate in fear and fail to live up to our calling as the Church.  Forgive us and help us to walk worthy of the gospel, as Your people on Your mission here on earth.

Song: O Church Arise written by Stuart Townend and Keith Getty.

Reading: Celebration Of Assurance: “Among the gods there is none like You, Lord.  None can do what You do!  All the nations You have made will come and worship before You, Lord; they will bring glory to Your name.   For You are great and do marvelous deeds; You alone are God.”
(Psalm 86:8-10)

God has demonstrated His awesome power in the resurrection of Jesus Christ and of all who believe in Him for salvation! Let’s sing out about the wonderful deeds and awesome power of our great God!

Song: Awesome Is Your Power written by Kristen and Bobby Gilles, and Jonatan Barahona. We recorded “Awesome Is Your Power” on Parker’s Mercy Brigade (story behind the song here). (Get individual tracks for free here).

SERMON Sojourn Pastor Daniel Montgomery spoke on church multiplication.

Song: Your Great Name written by Krissy Nordhoff and Michael Neale.

Reading for the Sending: So when the apostles were with Jesus, they kept asking Him, “Lord, has the time come for You to free Israel and restore our kingdom?”

He replied, “The Father alone has the authority to set those dates and times, and they are not for you to know. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be My witnesses, telling people about Me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

(Acts 1:6-8)

Let’s lift our voices and praise the God who sent His Son Jesus to save the world and who sends us out by the power of His Spirit to proclaim His great salvation to the ends of the earth!

Song for the Sending/ Benediction: Praise the Sending God written by Kristen and Bobby Gilles, and Jonatan Barahona, recorded on Parker’s Mercy Brigade. Story behind the song here.
