Worship Music Songwriters, Take 30 Seconds To Read This. Remember It

Don't write worship songs that boast of your love for God. Write about His love for us. God's love doesn't fail. Ours does.

I found this via my friend Tony Kumer at his Ministry To Children blog. Seriously, those of you who write praise and worship songs and modern hymns, this is an important point to remember.

I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection

— Stuart Townend, “How Deep The Father’s Love For Us” modern hymn (87.87 meter)
